Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez, Bayamon, Puerto Rico - In a WBC semi-heavyweight eliminator, Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31KOs) destroyed Malik Scott (36-2-1, 13KOs) with a first round knockout. Scott came out circling as Wilder used his jab. A left hand, followed by a straight right hand that cracked Scott on his face - sent him crashing down to the mat. Scott struggled to get to his feet, but he was unable to get up before the count of ten.
Wilder now moves forward in search for a heavyweight title in 2014.

no, Wilder KOed him in sparring
LMAO......with 18 oz gloves too. These people on here don't know half of what they are talking about. Even David Haye said that the videos leaked on the web of their sparring sessions are not accurate, they only showed the moments when Haye was having success because of the upcoming Chisora fight. He admitted that Wilder "did much better than what the videos show". Hence the reason, they were edited to remove that footage.

Wilder was never hurt by Firtha, got knocked off balance by a jab but that was it. Firtha took a lot of punches but also took a massive beating. Boxing is a strange, unpredictable sport, I've seen fighters knocked out with even less.
Scott looked nervous as hell, coming off a KO loss against Chisora 2 fights ago.
And to those who think this was fixed I ask you, what does Scott have to gain? Scott's career may never be the same after this, he takes a huge step back after this loss, after all the work he put in to get there. Wilder isn't some superstar either, he's still fighting for 5 figure pay days, and has a very small fan base.
Not really.
