Two-division champion Danny Garcia returns to action against rugged brawler Adrian Granados on April at a site to be determined (8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT.) as he tries to rebound from September unanimous decision loss to two-time title winner Shawn Porter for the WBC’s vacant welterweight crown at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The 30-year-old Garcia (34-2, 20 KOs) fights the 29-year-old Granados (20-6-2, 14 KOs, 1 NC), of Cicero, Illinois, after having gone 1-2 in his past three fights, sandwiching a split-decision loss in a unification clash with Keith Thurman (28-0, 22 KOs) in March 2017 and the loss to Porter (29-2-1, 17 KOs) around a ninth-round TKO of former 135-pound titleholder Brandon Rios in February.

Garcia lost his WBC crown to Thurman, who vacated it due to injuries, allowing Porter to take the vacant crown by defeating Garcia.

“I would definitely like the rematch with Shawn Porter or Keith Thurman,” said "Swift" Garcia, whose deep resume includes 13 of his past 16 fights at 140- and 147-pounds being against current or former champions, with 11 of them being victories.

“But if not, you know, we’ve gotta just keep on winning, but those are the fights that I really want, as well as all of the big fights. I’ll take whatever comes my way. But as you can see [by his resume,] I’ve fought the most [quality] fighters out of anybody.”

Among those Garcia’s vanquished are four-division champion Erik Morales (twice), two-division titlists Robert Guerrero, Lamont Peterson, Zab Judah and Paulie Malignaggi, and one-timers Amir Khan, Lucas Matthysse, Mauricio Herrera, Kendall Holt and Nate Campbell.

Garcia owns fourth-round stoppages of Khan and Morales, a ninth-round TKO of Malignaggi, and made five defenses at 140 pounds.

Nicknamed “El Tigre,” Granados called out Garcia prior to his fight with Porter, having stormed back to score consecutive third-round knockouts over in August and September against Luis Fernando Valdez and Adalberto Borquez since falling losing back-to-back split- and unanimous decisions to Porter and four-division champion Adrien Broner (33-3-1, 24 KOs) in February and November 2017.

Granados’ 140-pound clash with two-division champion Javier Fortuna (33-2-1, 23 KOs) in June ended in a fourth-round, no-contest after Fortuna was complained of being injured and unable to continue after being accidentally pushed from the ring.

Granados rode a five-bout winning streak into his fight with Broner, with three of those triumphs being stoppages. That includes an eighth-round TKO upset of then-unbeaten Amir Imam (18-0, 15 KOs) in November 2015.
