Danny Garcia Believes He's Grown into 147, Ready To Get KO's

WBC world champion Danny "Swift" Garcia (32-0, 18KOs) believes his body is now fully developed to the welterweight division and now he's ready to knock opponents out.

After being the WBC/WBA champion at 140-pounds for several years, Garcia moved up to welterweight last August and stopped for champion Paulie Malignaggi in nine rounds.

Then Garcia became a two-division world champion earlier this year, in January, when he picked up the vacant WBC welterweight crown with a twelve round decision over former beltholder Robert Guerrero.

And how Garcia is scheduled for his third welterweight fight against Colombia's Samuel Vargas - which takes place Saturday, November 12 from Temple University's Liacouras Center in Philadelphia. Televised coverage on Spike begins at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT.

If Garcia wins this fight, he will move forward with a scheduled unification with WBA champion Keith Thurman on March 4th.

Garcia plans to make a statement next week and says it's time to start knocking opponents out.

"I had to grow into 140-pounds before I started knocking people out. This will be my third fight at welterweight and I think I'm going to feel as good as I have in my career. That's why we're ready to take on the best," Garcia said.

"I'm very lucky to be where I am. It takes a lot of hard work, but you also need the right timing. My dad and I had a vision. We never gave up on that vision. We've been through so much in life, we didn't want to stop till we reached our goals."

"I know Billy Briscoe (Vargas' trainer) will have some tricks. We're very familiar with each other and I know what kind of trainer he is. He's never prepared to face someone like me. I've watched the tape on Vargas. He's a gritty fighter. He's definitely a tough guy who won't give up. I have to be ready. I'm going to have to be prepared. I feel ready to go.
