Undefeated welterweight contender Terence Crawford (32-0, 23 KOs) is prepared to dish out as much punishment as possible when he steps in the ring with WBO world champion Jeff Horn (18-0-1, 12 KOs).
Horn will defend his title against Crawford on June 9th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
For Crawford, this will be his first contest at the welterweight limit after capturing gold at the lightweight limit of 135 and unifying the entire junior welterweight limit of 140-pounds.
For Horn, it's his second world title defense - after capturing the title in July 2017 with a stunning twelve round unanimous decision over huge favorite Manny Pacquiao, before a crowd of 51,000 at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia.
Horn has promised to come in there to push the tempo against Crawford - and that's exactly hat the challenger expects to happen in the ring.
“The main thing is Horn’s gonna come in there and try to bully me and be aggressive because he feels he’s the bigger man,’’ Crawford said to Fox Sports.
“Horn is a decent fighter. I can’t take nothing away from him. He’s made it to where he’s at. Now he’s undefeated, a world champion and he just beat Manny Pacquiao.
There has been a lot of trash talking going back and forth - especially from Horn's trainer, Glenn Rushton.
Crawford believes Horn and his team members are attempting to get him riled up before the fight - so he's staying calm and ignoring most of the comments.
At the same time, he intends to punish Horn for as long as he can take it.
“Their little tactics, what they’re doing and what they are saying is not going to get me off my game plan or distract me at all. I feel good I feel strong," Crawford said.
“I can give Horn all he wants. If he wants to absorb the punishment so be it.’’
