According to British middleweight contender Chris Eubank Jr. (23-1, 18 KOs), he's hungry to get his hands on WBC, IBO, WBA, IBF middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs).

Eubank Jr. is taking what might be a one-off fight at super middleweight on February 4th, when he challenges IBO champion Renold Quinlan on February 4th as part of headline bout to a pay-per-view event being handled ITV in the UK.

Speaking this week, Eubank was keen to stress that he’s not overlooking his upcoming adversary, but that he sees him very much as stepping stone for getting his name in the mix with some of the biggest players on the world stage.

Last year, there were discussions for Eubank and Golovkin to fight each other in September at the O2 Arena in London.

Eubank was unable to reach an agreement, on the financial terms, with his promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport. Hearn pulled Eubank Jr. from the fight and replaced him with IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook, who was stopped by the hard-puncher in five rounds.

Eubank has been studying Golovkin and says there are numerous flaws that he's confident of exploiting.

“The Golovkin fight is something I’ve been very vocal about over the last year and a half and I know I can beat that man,” Eubank said to The Mirror. “He’s seen as one of the pound-for-pound best in the world so that’s a fight I just want for the pure fact that I believe people need to understand and people need to know the truth and he’s not the truth.

“People think just because he’s knocking these guys out that he’s the best in the world, but I see so many weaknesses in his boxing style that I believe I can fully exploit. I’d love that fight.”

Golovkin returns on March 18th, when he makes a mandatory defense against Daniel Jacobs at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
