Angel Garcia, father and trainer of Danny Garcia (31-0, 18KOs), has no doubts about his son coming away victorious later today when he faces Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (33-3-1, 18KOs) in the main event of Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on FOX, which takes place at STAPLES Center in downtown Los Angeles, California.

The two fighters will battle for the vacant World Boxing Council welterweight championship. The belt became vacant after Floyd Mayweather jr. retired last September.

The will be Guerrero's second shot at that title after losing a decision to Mayweather in 2013.

Danny moved up to the welterweight division last year after a long stretch at 140-pounds, where he won the WBC and WBA world titles. He was struggling to make the division limit and finally made the jump by making his division debut with a TKO win over former champion Paulie Malignaggi.

The winner of the fight has been mandated to face Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) by June. Danny stopped Khan in four rounds back in 2012 when they faced each other at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Since that time, Khan has been trying to get Garcia back in the ring. Garcia, along with his father, has been rejecting Khan's advances and this situation is no different.

Once the Guerrero fight is finished, Angel says their plan is to go after the other world titles and not make a mandatory defense against Khan.

"Who cares about Khan. Danny is going to be the new champion of the world Saturday night. After that we're going after the other belts," Angel said.

Angel expects a hard fight with Guerrero, who is a former world champion but those belts were captured in lower weight divisions. Guerrero has risen up in weight very quickly since being tabbed as a rising star many years ago at 126-pounds.

"Danny had a great camp. It was a beautiful camp. He looked great sparring. This is a new beginning in his life. There's a new man in town. There's no doubt Robert's coming to fight. This is boxing. He's supposed to come to fight. I know he's not going to come in here and play with Danny. We're ready for anything he brings to the table," Angel said.

"We're not going to let Robert take away what Danny has worked his whole life to get. I worked hard to make Danny the man he is today."
