Trainer Angel Garcia is still wondering why so many boxing experts believed Amir Khan was a great fighter. Garcia's son, Danny Garcia (24-0, 15KOs), stopped Khan in four rounds on July 14th in Las Vegas. Khan was dropped in the third and twice in the fourth before the contest was stopped.

Going into the fight, Garcia was a huge underdog, and many were expecting a knockout victory for Khan (26-3, 18KOs). Angel says the July outcome proved his previous statement, when he called Khan an "overrated fighter" and later said it was Danny who was the "great fighter." 

"Danny was always a great fighter, but people never seen it in him. I don't know why. That's how God wanted it and we're following God's path. I said from the beginning and I'll say it again and nobody is going to change my mind - Khan was overrated. He didn't have no chin. How can you be a great fighter with no chin? You have to have a chin [to be a great fighter] and we proved that [Danny is a great fighter and Khan is overrated] that night," Angel told BoxingScene.com.

Danny is now scheduled to defend his WBC/WBA junior welterweight titles against Mexican legend Erik Morales (52-8, 36KOs) in a rematch on October 20th at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Danny decisioned Morales over twelve rounds in March. Angel felt his son showed Morales too much respect after dropping the Mexican fighter in the eleventh round.

"The game plan for this fight is going to be a little bit different. The first time Danny hurt him and then gave him a little [too much] respect. This time Danny has to use his youth to go in there and hurt him, destroy him and take him down," Angel said.
