According to Russian promoter Vladimir Hryunov, Belarusian giant Alexander Ustinov (32-1, 23 KOs) will face former heavyweight champion Samuel Peter (35-5, 28 KOs) on December 12 in Moscow, as part of the undercard to the cruiserweight battle between former champions Roy Jones Jr. and Enzo Maccarinelli.
Hryunov is attempting to make this fight a WBO eliminator, although that's going to be a tough sell to the sanctioning body. Neither fighter is ranked in the WBO's top fifteen and Peter has only fought once in the last four years.
"It's hard, but I'm working on it," says Hryunov.
Ustinov is on a veteran's tour of opponents, blowing out Maurice Harris and Travis Walker in a combined three rounds this year.
Jones (62-8, 45 KOs) is telling reporters that his upcoming fight will be the final bout of his pro career. The former four division word champion recently received Russian citizenship and plans to conduct business in the country.
