Ernest Gabion catches up with middleweight contender Peter Quillin to discuss his recent win over future hall of fame boxer Winky Wright, the future and more.

Home Depot Center, Carson, California - Middleweight contender Peter Quillin (27-0, 20KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over former undisputed 154-pound champion Ronald "Winky" Wright (51-6-1, 25KOs), who returned from a near four year layoff. The scores were 97-92, 98-91, 98-91.

Middleweight contender Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin reflected on his unanimous decision victory over former undisputed junior middleweight champion Ronald “Winky” Wright Saturday night in Carson, Calif.

Former lineal 154 lb. king Winky Wright ended a hiatus of more than three years in returning to the ring Saturday night to face unbeaten Peter Quillin at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. What hasn’t changed is the date of his last win, which came all the way back in Dec. ’06 when the potential future Hall-of-Famer outpointed Ike Quartey. Wright has dropped three straight since then, losing decisions to Bernard Hopkins, Paul Williams and now against Quillin after falling way short in their Showtime-televised co-feature.

He’s not a renowned superstar by any stretch, but the name Winky Wright still rings out in boxing circles. The 40-year old southpaw returns to the ring on June 2, following a three-year hiatus. The inactive stretch was part by choice and partly forced, as fights were scheduled in between but fell through due to financial issues with the event handlers. No such concerns surround Wright’s upcoming showdown with undefeated middleweight Peter Quillin, which airs live from the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. as part of a televised quadruple header on Showtime.

Boxing fans have grown accustomed in the pay-per-view era to shelling out pay-per-view dollars for shows with a set of solid fights but no real main event. Showtime has saved them some coin with a rare quadruple header of interesting fistic encounters.

CARSON, Calif. – All eight fighters participating in Saturday’s SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING “Four Warned” event and the SHOWTIME EXTREME fighters participated in a final press conference on Thursday, just two days before the highly anticipated June 2 Quadrupleheader which will be telecast live on SHOWTIME® (9:00 p.m. ET/PT) from The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

The weights are in for Saturday's Showtime televised quadrupleheader at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles, California. In the main event, undefeated Lateef Kayode (18-0, 14 KOs) will challenge IBO cruiserweight titleholder Antonio Tarver (29-6, 20 KOs). Tarver came in at 198-pounds, while Kayode was 199-pounds.

A fight against a younger, stronger, undefeated opponent will be well worthwhile if a victory over Peter Quillin leads Ronald “Winky” Wright where believes it should. “I want to fight the best,” Wright said. “After I fight this fight, I want a title shot. If I ain’t getting no title shot, then it’s irrelevant — what I’m doing is not necessary because if you ain’t in it to win titles and get belts, then you’re just doing the game just for the fun of it.”
