Vito Mielnicki Jr. will remain active on another high-profile show next month.

BoxingScene.com has confirmed that the 20-year-old junior middleweight will oppose Omar Rosales on the Gervonta Davis-Hector Luis Garcia undercard January 7 in Washington, D.C. The 10-round bout between Mielnicki (13-1, 8 KOs) and Rosales (9-1-1, 5 KOs) is expected to be streamed on Showtime’s YouTube channel just before the start of the pay-per-view portion of the Davis-Garcia undercard at Capital One Arena.

It’ll be the fifth fight in 12 months for Mielnicki, who has won five consecutive fights since Philadelphia’s James Martin upset him by majority decision in an eight-rounder in April 2021 in Los Angeles. Mielnicki, of Roseland, New Jersey, comfortably beat Limberth Ponce (19-6, 11 KOs) by unanimous decision in his last fight, a 10-rounder October 15 on the Deontay Wilder-Robert Helenius undercard at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Houston’s Rosales got off to a 9-0 start after launching his career in August 2020. He is 0-1-1 in his past two fights, including a six-round split draw with San Antonio’s Bryan Springs (3-5-2, 1 KO) on June 17 in Houston.

Mielnicki-Rosales will probably be one of three fights Showtime will stream on its YouTube channel before the four-fight pay-per-view show starts.

Before Baltimore’s Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) defends his WBA world lightweight title against the Dominican Republic’s Garcia (16-0, 10 KOs, 3 NC) in the 12-round main event, Philadelphia’s Jaron Ennis (29-0, 27 KOs, 1 NC) is set to face Ukraine’s Karen Chukhadzhian (21-1, 11 KOs) in the 12-round co-feature for the IBF interim welterweight title.

Former WBO middleweight champ Demetrius Andrade also will box Demond Nicholson in a 10-round bout on the pay-per-view undercard. Andrade (31-0, 19 KOs), a 2008 U.S. Olympian from Providence, Rhode Island, will make his debut at the super middleweight limit of 168 pounds against Nicholson (26-4-1, 22 KOs), of Laurel, Maryland.

Showtime’s pay-per-view telecast will begin with a 10-rounder in which welterweight contender Rashidi Ellis (24-0, 15 KOs), of Lynn, Massachusetts, will square off against Venezuelan knockout artist Roiman Villa (25-1, 24 KOs).
