Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez feels like a new man after having faced Gennady Golovkin in back to back fights.

From the inside of his team, his coach Eddy Reynoso confessed that he has noticed a certain evolution, not only physically and technically, but also mentally, which will carry forward on May 4th, when Canelo faces Daniel Jacobs in a three belt unification.

The two boxers will collide for the WBC, WBA, IBF middleweight belts at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Reynoso, who could finish up 2019 as Trainer of The Year if he manages to keep Canelo on top and elevates fighters like Óscar Valdez and Ryan García, stressed that Canelo's confidence grew and is reflected in each training session in search of perfection.

"When you beat a fighter of Gennady Golovkin's caliber you gain confidence in the things you're doing," Reynoso said to ESPN Deportes.

"Golovkin was fought in two different ways, first on the counter-attacks and then on the basis of waist movements and pushing the opponent back, and he was successful with both.

"And after you beat a great fighter like Gennady Golovkin, it gives you more confidence to keep doing the things that went well for you. In the last four or five fights, Saul has advanced with a lot in his technique, he's impressed with the knowledge that he's gained from the point where he was a four round fighters. His feints are improving, counters, side steps, blocks, rope work, distance management, I think he has improved quite a bit.

"We are about to see the best Canelo, a fighter more set, young, without having been on the receiving end of punches throughout his career, a complete fighter and yes, the best of Saúl is to come."
