BoxingScene.com recently caught up with trainer Al Bonanni to get his take on a potential showdown between his fighter, IBF light heavyweight champion Tavoris Cloud, and former champion Jean Pascal.  An animated Bonanni told BoxingScene that he thinks Pascal's team is avoiding a matchup with the heavy hitter from Florida.

"Pascal and the guys up there are p*ssies! We will go up there and whip his ass. They know that," Bonani said.

Pascal's recent fights have been in his adopted providence of Quebec, Canada.  There have been a few questionable decisions in recent years in Quebec and some people think that foreigners don't get a fair shake on the scorecards.  Bonanni thinks the judging will be fair and doesn't see that as an issue.

"I don't think they will rob us.  I think the IBF would appoint neutral judges. They didn't rob Bernard Hopkins (in the rematch) so why would they rob Cloud?  At the end of the fight he will be the champion.  We will go in the fight as the champion and leave as the champion."

Bonanni wrapped up our conversation by saying that making the fight isn't difficult and that Team Cloud understands that Pascal has a big fan base in the Montreal area.  That being said, he remains skeptical that the fight actually happens.

"At the end of the day they won't fight us.  The fight won't happen.  I guarantee it won't happen.  They say that Don King wants options and this and that but all that stuff can be worked out.  e will go in for less money than him. Not a whole lot less.  We are the champion but we understand that he is bringing the gate. It isn't that hard to make the fight but it won't happen."
