MGM Grand, LAS VEGAS, NV - WBC/WBA/IBF/IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0) has trained under the guidance of Abel Sanchez since 2012, when he made his debut on U.S. soil against Grzegorz Proska.  That was also his debut on HBO.

Golovkin's twin brother Max has been a big part of this training camp for his pay-per-view showdown against Canelo Alvarez (49-1-1). This camp like all of his training camps in America, has taken place at Sanchez's The Summit gym in Big Bear, Calif.

While meeting with reporters, Sanchez was asked how it important it was for Golovkin to have his brother at his side during camp.

"I think it is more important for me. I think Max knows him better than he knows himself. I have seen the interactions between Max and Gennady and at times it is like Max is the older brother. In Russian, obviously I am not understanding but you can kind of hear in the tone of the voice what he is doing wrong and what he needs to do more of so I think it helps me a lot more than Gennady," explained Sanchez.

"They are 15 minutes apart. I think they were in there for 9 months and they know each other better than anyone in the world," he continued.

As for the fight itself, Sanchez said that Golovkin will be able to adapt and adjust to anything that Canelo tries to do in the gym.  Golovkin has had a lot of success being aggressive but he has also had success using a cautious approach and using his jab more than he normally does like he did against David Lemieux and Danny Jacobs.

Sanchez doesn't expect this fight to be like either of those two fights.

"It is going to be used but I don't think it will be used like against Lemieux. Canelo is a different type of fighter and I think it will give us the opportunity to use all of our weapons," Sanchez told BoxingScene.com.
