The weights are in for Saturday's HBO Boxing After Dark telecast at the MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods® Resort Casino in Mashantucket, CT. Jason "Monstruo" Escalera (13-0-1, 12KO's) takes on current USBA super middleweight champion Edwin "La Bomba" Rodriguez (21-0, 14KO's). Rodriguez-Escalera is scheduled for 10 rounds, and will be the main event bout of the evening. The fight is take place at a catch-weight of 166. Rodriguez came in at 166 and Escalera was 165.

Undefeated super middleweight Edwin Rodriguez, 21-0 (14 KOs), hopes to prove a point against Jason Escalera, 13-0-1 (12 KOs), at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods Resort in Mashantucket, CT, this Saturday night: that he's willing and ready to face the elites in the star-studded super middleweight division. At the top of the heap of the 168-pounders, of course, is Super Six champ Andre Ward, who recently reaffirmed his superiority in the division with a dominant TKO over WBC light heavyweight titleholder Chad Dawson. Then there's the likes of Carl Froch, Kelly Pavlik and Mikkel Kessler, top-shelf fighters who trail Ward in achievement but exceed him in terms of selling power. Big Plans In Store With Wins For Rodriguez, Luis del Valle
The September 29 edition of HBO’s Boxing After Dark came about due to a leftover favor from former boss Ross Greenburg’s tenure with the network. The card itself was originally slated to appear on a series that was intended for HBO2 but never came to fruition.
