The negotiations are going well for a May 17th encounter between undefeated fighters Mikey Garcia and Yuriorkis Gamboa. Top Rank and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson are negotiating the details, with the HBO televised fight taking place at The Forum in Los Angeles, California.

"The negotiations are ongoing. Obviously there are things that we have to agree on, but everything is going well for May 17th. Among other things, we are negotiating the weight. I want to move up to 135-pounds, and he wants to fight at 130-pounds," Garcia said.

Garcia also said that he is not paying any attention to the trash talk coming from Gamboa on the social networks. On his social channels, the Olympic gold medal winner from Cuba has been attacking Garcia at every turn.

"He's been talking a lot. I don't know if it's him or just someone who manages his accounts. But he wants to fight and I want to fight. I'd like to fight him to establish myself in that division and have more of a name. I actually have more options than the ones that he has. He needs me more than I need him, but I like the fight and it would move my career forward," Garcia said.
