Frenchman Michel Soro won the World Boxing Association (WBA) junior middleweight gold title, by knocking out his compatriot Anderson Prestot in the fifth round, in the main event battle of a card that took place on Saturday at the Palacio of Sports in Marseille, France.
Michel Soro is now on his third opponent in a bid to capture a secondary title. The 31-year old super welterweight contender will now take on France’s Anderson Prestot, who steps in on just one day’s notice for the World Boxing Association (WBA) “Regular” super welterweight title Saturday evening at Palais des Sports in Marseille, France.

The winner of the fight will collide with the victor of Michel Soro (33-2-1, 22 KOs) and Magomed Kurbanov (17-0, 11 KOs), who battle for the vacant WBA "regular" junior middleweight title on July 20th in Paris, France.
The World Boxing Association (WBA) have issued a decision, based on a ruling from their Championships Committee, to strip Brian Castano of the WBA "regular" junior middleweight title. French super welterweight Michel Soro, 33-2-1, had no problems in stopping American Greg Vendetti, 20-3-1, last night (Dec 8) in Paris in the headliner of Univent´s big show at the Palais des Sports Marcel Cerdan. Soro thus retained the WBA Gold title (formerly known as Interim).
EBU heavyweight champ Agit Kabayel, 21-2 (including the Bigger is Better tournament fights), will defend the title against mandatory challenger Otto Wallin, 20-0, from Sweden, on February 3 or 23 in Germany with SES promoting.
Frenchman Michel Soro, third in the WBA rankings, won the vacant interim-WBA super welterweight title by defeating US contender John Vera (# 2 WBA) with a 12-round unanimous decision, on Saturday in one of the main fights of a card that took place in the Palace of Sports in Marseille, France
