French junior middleweight and EBU champ Michel Soro, 37-4-2 (26 KOs) is back in action October 10 at the Palais des Sports in Marseille against an opponent to be announced.

While almost all eyes were on Riyadh and the excellent 5 vs 5 show there were some interesting fights in Europe as well.

If it wasn't for bad luck French junior-middleweight veteran Michel Soro (35-4-2) wouldn't have had any luck at all, at least not in the last few years. In 2022 he was stopped in the ninth round by Israel Madrimov (then 7-0) in a WBA eliminator. He was hurt against the ropes, the bell rang, the referee didn’t hear it, and Madrimov punched away forcing a stoppage.

Michel Soro’s handlers have filed a protest after his costly, controversial loss to Magomed Kurbanov on Saturday night in Ekaterinburg, Russia. In the protest submitted to the Russian Boxing Federation, a copy of which was obtained by BoxingScene.com, Soro’s

WBA # 2 ranked junior middleweight Michel Soro (35-3-2) and WBA # 5 Magomed Kurbanov (24-0) square off on May 6 in Ekaterinburg, Russia, in a non-title ten-rounder.

Israil Madrimov’s rematch with Michel Soro, of France, ended in an unsatisfactory technical draw after Soro suffered a horrendous cut after a clash of heads seconds into the third round at the O2 arena.

A night of rematches remains intact but now without its planned co-feature. Unbeaten prospect Felix Cash was forced to withdraw from a scheduled fight with Vaughn Alexander, after continuing to struggle with a stomach virus that has plagued him throughout fight week. The 29-year-old Brit announced the development late Saturday morning, just hours before their ten-round regional middleweight title fight was due to serve as the chief support on a DAZN show from The O2 in London.
