French junior middleweight and EBU champ Michel Soro, 37-4-2 (26 KOs) is back in action October 10 at the Palais des Sports in Marseille against an opponent to be announced.

Soro has had nothing but bad luck in three WBA eliminators first against Israel Madrimov in 2021 in Uzbekistan where he was stopped in the ninth round the first time around. On that night the bell ending the round had rung but no one heard, including the referee, and Madrimov was allowed to continue to punch against Soro, who was in trouble when the bell rung – but then got badly stunned during the extended time.

Then, in 2023 Soro, fought Magomed Kurbanov in Ekaterinburg (Russia) and lost a split decision although most had the Frenchman winning.

Last year, the now 37-year old Soro returned and is 2-0 on the comeback trail.

Soro lost a split decision to Brian Castano in 2017 in a fight for the WBA interim title. A rematch was ordered but never took place due to a contractual dispute.
