Mayfield's Manager: Erick Bone Chosen to Fight Porter

By Ryan Maquiñana

Erick Bone has been chosen to fight Shawn Porter as the late replacement in Friday's "Premier Boxing Champions" headliner, with Karim Mayfield pegged as the standby, according to Mayfield's manager and brother, LaRon Mayfield.

Mayfield was flown in from San Francisco but ultimately, SpikeTV execs picked Bone, from Ecuador, to replace the ill Roberto Garcia. The card takes place at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California.

"Karim will be paid (an undisclosed amount) even though he's not getting the fight, but they told us that they would take care of us for a future card," LaRon Mayfield said.

Sources have told BoxingScene.com that the purse offered for Porter's opponent was a cool $150,000.

Erick Bone is rated 15 at super lightweight for the WBC, he is 5"10 I am sure he will give Porter a good fight.
