LAS VEGAS – Deontay Wilder and Luis Ortiz provided plenty of dramatic moments when Wilder knocked out Ortiz in the 10th round in March 2018.

Ortiz obviously anticipates a different result, but he envisions another back-and-forth fight that’ll thoroughly entertain fans Saturday night.

“Like I said before, and Deontay also said, this is not gonna go 12 rounds,” Ortiz said during a press conference Wednesday at MGM Grand. “Either he knocks me out or I knock him out. And I wish there were no bells between rounds, so we could just keep going. This is gonna be a war.”

The undefeated Wilder (41-0-1, 40 KOs) is regularly listed as a 6-1 favorite to beat Ortiz (31-1, 26 KOs, 2 NC) in their 12-round rematch at MGM Grand Garden Arena.

The WBC heavyweight champion knocked down Ortiz three times – once in the fifth round and twice in the 10th round – in their first fight. Wilder also withstood serious trouble toward the end of the seventh round and came back to win.

Wilder wasn’t contractually obligated to a rematch with Ortiz and it wasn’t mandated by the WBC. The Tuscaloosa, Alabama, native reiterated Wednesday that one of the primary reasons he granted Ortiz a rematch is because he developed a bond with Ortiz before, during and after their first fight due to both boxers having daughters who suffer from medical conditions that require expensive care.

“It’s nothing more really to be said,” Wilder said during the press conference. “You know, now it’s time for action. And I’m looking forward to giving you guys the best of me. Luis is looking to give you guys the best of him, along with the rest of the guys on the card. That’s all you guys can ask for. You know, we trained very hard to get prepared and to go to war. This is war.

“And with our fight, you already know what to expect. You know, the hard part for you guys should be the waiting part. You know, some of you probably ain’t gonna be able to sleep come Friday night. And that’s OK, because I’m probably gonna be right there with you, visualizing, meditating, getting ready to go to war. This is what it’s all about. I’m just excited to be here. I can’t wait.”

Wilder, 34, and Ortiz, 40, will headline FOX Sports’ four-fight, pay-per-view show Saturday night. The telecast is set to start at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT and costs $74.95 to view in HD.

“Come Saturday night, you guys are in for a treat, as always,” Wilder continued. “This fight will not go the distance. So, as I said before, get your popcorn, go get your pizza, go to the bathroom, make sure you get by somebody that’s not gonna be able to disturb you. Don’t drop your cell phone. Put it in your pockets, because you don’t wanna be the one that drops and look up and say, ‘What happened?’ Because it can happen just like that.

“And as I always say, these guys have gotta be perfect for 12 rounds. I only have to be perfect for two seconds. And in the blink of an eye, ‘Bam, baby! Good night.’ So, I can’t wait, guys. You’re in for a treat. This is gonna be an amazing card, amazing fight, and I can’t wait, baby. Bomb Squad!”
