WBA/WBC super middleweight champion Andre Ward (25-0, 13KOs) is not impressed with the record of Lucian Bute, the undefeated IBF champion. Ward, who dominated Carl Froch (28-2, 20KOs) on Saturday night to win the Super Six tournament, is not rushing to make a deal with Bute, who many believed who automatically face the Super Six winner. He believes Bute took an easy road to the Super Six champion. But if the right deal comes along, Ward is ready to make the fight.

Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City - IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute (30-0, 24KOs) is pulling for Carl Froch to defeat Andre Ward in their 168-pound unification later tonight. NEW YORK – Saturday’s blockbuster super middleweight showdown between Super Six World Boxing Classic finalists Andre Ward and Carl Froch has captivated the attention of the boxing world – especially those in the 168-pound division. Andre Dirrell, Arthur Abraham, Glen Johnson and Lucian Bute are predicting World Boxing Association super middleweight champion Ward (24-0, 13 KOs) will be the last man standing and proudly lifting the inaugural Super Six World Boxing Classic Cup in victory come Saturday, Dec. 17, from Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J., live on SHOWTIME® (9 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the West Coast).

NEW YORK — Carl Froch and Andre Ward agreed on one thing. They believe only the winner of their fight, not unbeaten Lucian Bute, can stake legitimate claim to being boxing’s best super middleweight. The undefeated Ward, who owns the WBA 168-pound title, and Froch, the WBC’s super middleweight champion, will fight for The Ring magazine’s crown, in addition to the “Super Six World Boxing Classic” championship cup Saturday night at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

Though he is in Washington, D.C., in a promotional role — Golden Boy Promotions is putting on a fight this Saturday between Amir Khan and Lamont Peterson — light heavyweight Bernard Hopkins also spoke to a group of reporters about himself.

Jean Bedard, the president of InterBox, who promote IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute, was not amused with a recent article on BoxingScene.com that involved WBC champion Carl Froch. In the article, Froch took a direct shot at Bute and downplayed his top status at 168-pounds.

Carl Froch has blasted IBF super-middleweight titlist Lucian Bute ahead of his own Super Six final showdown against America’s Andre Ward. Froch is the WBC boss, he today told Sky Sports News that his December 17th Atlantic City showdown with WBA counterpart Ward will crown an undisputed champion despite Canada’s Bute ruling a portion of the division.

It’s enough to feel a little sorry for Lucian Bute. The long reigning IBF titlist at 168 lbs. got the marquee name his record lacked, turned in the dominant performance he needed, and by Sunday morning almost no one outside Canada cared.

31-year old Romanian IBF Super Middleweight titlist Lucian Bute (30-0, 24 KO) of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, answered questions about what he could do against proven, top shelf opposition with a master class performance on Saturday night at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec City against former Light Heavyweight titlist Glen Johnson (51-16-2, 35 KO).
