Jose Miguel Cotto vs Jose Luis Castillo Showdown in Play

by Miguel Rivera

An interesting Puerto Rico vs. Mexico battle is being discussed between welterweight contenders Jose Miguel Cotto (32-3-1, 24KOs) and Jose Luis Castillo (63-11-1, 54KOs). Jose Miguel is the brother of Puerto Rican superstar and WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto. Jose Luis, the former lightweight king, has seen much better days since the close decision loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2002. The fight is being discussed for the Erik Morales-Danny Garcia undercard on March 24th at Reliant Arena in Houston, Texas.

This is a very interesting fight between two known journeymen. Cotto should win based on age but Castillo should be favored.
