According to reports coming out of Venezuela, former champion Carlos "Famoso" Hernandez is the likely opponent for the return of Jorge Linares in March. The event promoters are trying to reach an agreement for Hernandez to fight Linares in Venezuela. Hernandez has not fought since losing a twelve round decision to Vicente Escobedo last April. It is not clear if Linares will fight at lightweight, where Hernandez has been for the last few years, or if a catch-weight will be agreed up. Linares was knocked out in a minute of the first round in his last fight with Juan Carlos Salgado in September.

If Linares-Hernandez is made, the fight will be bumped to the main event position and the fight between WBA bantamweight champion Anselmo Moreno and interim-champ Nehomar Cermeno will be the action packed co-feature.
