Josh Taylor’s undisputed title win continued this morning – as he was on hand to display his world title belts to the British media for the very first time.

Josh Taylor didn’t get the hero’s welcome home he deserved when he returned to Scotland and he didn’t even have his belts with him after they went missing in transit. Taylor’s trip from Las Vegas went via Dallas and London, but when he arrived in Edinburgh COVID regulations prevented a crowd from greeting him the airport. He also said he had no idea what had happened to his four championship belts.

Unified lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez can once and for all settle the undisputed score in the division should Bob Arum back up his desires. The IBF, WBO, WBA and WBC franchise champion Lopez has had to argue for his case as the undisputed champion at 135 ever since beating Vasiliy Lomachenko last year because Devin Haney holds the actual WBC title, a belt which had it’s rights transferred to Haney via email in 2019 without the undefeated upstart having to throw a punch to win it.

LAS VEGAS – Josh Taylor is completely open to remaining within the 140-pound division for his next fight. The undefeated, fully unified champion believes there remain “big fights” for him at the junior welterweight limit, which he makes “easily.” If Taylor wants to keep each of his four titles, though, he’ll almost certainly have to make a mandatory defense of his WBO belt next against England’s Jack Catterall.

JACK CATTERALL is on a Las Vegas spying mission as he plots to become World Super-Lightweight champion. Edinburgh’s IBF and WBA World champion Josh Taylor meets WBC and WBO title holder Jose Ramirez on Saturday and Catterall will be front row making sure the winner doesn’t duck out.

WITH BEING OUT of action for a couple of weeks across the New Year period I am little late in jumping on the 2021 boxing bandwagon when it comes to making my personal wish – or To Do – list for the year ahead.

Undefeated junior welterweight contender Arnold Barboza Jr says he is targeting a showdown with Jack Catterall and is willing to come to the UK to face him. Catterall, who is the WBO mandatory, stepped aside to enable an undisputed fight between unified champions Josh Taylor and Jose Ramirez to take place, with the clash likely to happen in the spring.

Jack Catterall, the WBO’s No 1 super lightweight, had his first fight in more than a year as he dropped Abderrazak Houya twice en route to a points victory on the Dubois-Joyce undercard at Westminster.

One of the most anticipated heavyweight clashes of 2020 will finally see the light of day. Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce rode out several delays as the pair of explosive rising heavyweights will collide Saturday evening, live on BT Sport (United Kingdom) and ESPN+ (United States) from Church House in Westminster, England. The scheduled 12-round contest was on the books throughout the year, assigned several fight dates which endured postponements due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic before finally settling on a televised slot this weekend.

Jack Catterall is well aware of how much is at stake when he goes up against Frenchman Abderrazak Houya on Saturday. Undefeated Catterall (25-0, 13 KOs) faces Houya (14-2, 2 KOs) on the undercard of the heavyweight fight between Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce, which will be broadcast live on BT Sport.
