Isaac Dogboe Extends Top Rank Pact, With Multi-Year Deal

By Steve Kim

WBO super bantamweight titlist, Isaac Dogboe, has had a banner 2018. Not only winning the title but becoming a notable figure within the sport of boxing.

Now he has signed a new pact with Top Rank, which has promoted his last couple of bouts.

His adviser, Mike Altamura, told BoxingScene.com - "It's a multi-year deal, it's a minimum three fights per year with a loose understanding that if the scheduled permits there may be even a fourth fight within a 12 month period."

Dogboe has become a staple of ESPN and his next scheduled outing is on December 8th at the Hulu Theater in Madison Square Garden. It will be his fourth fight of the year.

"The target was to be a fighting champion and I believe Isaac is proving that in all of his movements," said Altamura, who says he's in talks with Top Rank to face, "the best available contender within the WBO world rankings."

Dogboe (20-0, 14 KOs), who's lead promoter is Rising Star African Promotions, began his 2018 campaign by stopping the always dangerous Cesar Juarez in five rounds back in January for the interim WBO title.

He then got his big break in April, when he won the full version of the WBO title by recovering from an early knockdown to score a sensational knockout of previously undefeated Jessie Magdaleno in eleven rounds. His first title defense came on April 25th, when he became the first fighter to halt Hidenori Otake of Japan - and the stoppage came in the first round.

Good pickup by TR. Dogboe has some potential as a P4P discussed type guy I feel like. Idk about him winning belts in 7 or however many divisions he's talking about being able to do, but he's a talented guy…

Rey Vargas doesn't have a home. A unification would be nice.
