A few days ago, unbeaten WBA super featherweight champion Jorge Linares told the overseas press that he planned to make a defense of his title on October 10 in Japan, and then he planned to target the other champions at the weight. He wants to unify the titles and the first opponent on his hitlist is WBC champion Humberto Soto.

"I will probably return to the ring in October, in Japan which is like my second home. Then I would like to unify with Humberto Soto," Linares told ESTO.

Soto heard about the challenge and he issued one back of his own - "that he is ready to unify the titles with Linares at any time." Soto is looking at a few other fights but he would be ready to fight Linares on the spot, even if he needed to travel to make the match happen.
