Promoter Eddie Hearn is sure Sheffield's welterweight starlet Kell Brook (27-0, 18KOs) is ready for world-title level boxing but will remain careful when selecting his next opponent. The 25-year-old put on a stellar performance on Saturday night to easily outpoint former European champion Matthew Hatton at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield in front of 10,000 adoring fans - and Hearn reflected on a superb night for his company.

He told Sky Sports Ringside:  "Maidana would be a dream fight. There's certain issues but he still holds the WBA light-welterweight title despite his loss at welterweight to Devon Alexander. All those kind of names - Maidana, Paulie Malignaggi, Sugar Shane Mosley - they're the names you want to bring out.

"Of course I can bring them over. With the support of Sky Sports and 10,000 fans, you can generate the numbers to bring over the big names - it makes things a lot easier. Brook is still learning. I know that's frustrating for people to hear but we need to choose the right fight at the right time and now it's a case of stepping up to that world title level."
