If Dillian Whyte (24-1, 17 KOs) needs a dance partner for December 22 - he certainly has one ready and willing, Cuban puncher Luis Ortiz (29-1, 25 KOs).
A few days ago, Ortiz made it clear that he wanted a piece of Whyte - for the December 1st undercard to the heavyweight bout between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
"There is a spot open on this Wilder-Fury card so why don’t you strap your nuts on and come face me so I can show you a good ass whooping son," Ortiz said to BoxingScene.com.
Whyte is open to the idea of doing that fight - but on December 22 in the UK.
In 2018, Whyte scored a brutal knockout of Lucas Browne and also won a tough twelve round decision over Joseph Parker.
The World Boxing Council had wanted Whyte and Ortiz to face each other in a final eliminator, with the victory securing a mandatory shot at Wilder. Of course Wilder already has a mandatory challenger in the form of Dominic Breazeale.
Eddie Hearn, who promotes Whyte, would love to make a fight with Ortiz for December.
Before exploring that scenario, Hearn will attempt to make a rematch between Whyte and Dereck Chisora, who fought in a Fight of The Year contender back in 2016.
"I spoke to Ortiz's people early, not even about the Dillian Whyte fight, but I'd love to make the Ortiz fight for December 22," Hearn said to IFL TV.
"If Chisora don't want to fight or a deal can't be done then, he's ready. If Luis Ortiz really wants the fight then let's do it. A WBC eliminator, a great fight."
Ortiz nearly derailed Wilder back in March, before he was stopped in the tenth round. He came back in July and knocked out Razvan Cojanu in two rounds.
