The rumors of a Ricky Hatton comeback are continuing to build in the UK. After May's two-round knockout loss at the hands of Manny Pacquiao, Hatton was quiet for a few weeks but now he's dropping hints about a possible return to the ring. A source close to the Hatton camp spoke with the Sunday Mercury and advised the paper that a Hatton comeback is under serious consideration.

“It’s by no means certain but there are strong feelings about having at least another fight. Ricky certainly doesn’t want to go out on a defeat and he would like to end on a very high note with a big thank you to his fans with a stunning victory," the source said.

While no opponent has been named, there are rumors that Hatton is considering a junior welterweight fight with fellow Brit Amir Khan. The two fighters are good friends and both refused to fight each other in the past. But Khan recently said that he would accept a fight with Hatton if the fans demanded it. Khan moves up to 140-pounds on July 18 to challenge WBA champion Andreas Kotelnik.

“Who it would be against I don’t know. But there have been whispers about Amir Khan which would be a mouth watering match. It would have all the hype and razzamatazz – and money.”
