During a recent appearance on ESPN's First Take, IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (36-0, 34 KOs) explained that he is still very interested in fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr. (49-0, 26 KOs) at a catch-weight of 154 or the full middleweight limit of 160.

And Golovkin also had a few verbal jabs at Saul "Canelo" Alvarez - who GGG described as a "selfish" person.

Golovkin is currently in camp, preparing for a mandatory defense on March 18 against Daniel Jacobs (32-1, 29 KOs) at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Mayweather has been retired since September 2015, when he won a twelve round decision over Andre Berto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather, who turned 40-years-old last Friday, appears to have little interest in facing anyone other than UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

Golovkin does not believes that he's too big for Mayweather, and explained that there is a big difference between going down in weight for Mayweather and refusing to fight Canelo last year at 155.

“I’m not too big [for Mayweather]. My [weight].... 30 days before my fight, I’m 165 [pounds] after [drinking] water. Yesterday after sparring, I was 164. Especially for Floyd - I’ll go to 154 or 160 if he wants. This is a dream fight," Golovkin said.

"There is a big difference between Floyd and Canelo. Floyd is Floyd. Floyd is the best pound-for-pound. Canelo, he’s done nothing. I talked to him just last year [and told him] 'I want this fight. I need this fight.’ It’s too much [talking]. I’m tired of this talking too much [about this fight]. I not respect [Canelo] because he’s like a selfish."

Golovkin also ruled out the possibility of heading up to super middleweight or light heavyweight, at least right now.

"I'm not too big for 160. My weight I told you is 165 just 30 days before the fight. It was 164 yesterday. 160 is very good [for me]. 154 is a very good category for me. 168 or 175, yeah if I have a big fight or big money fight or big unification fight, of course [I would consider going up there]," Golovkin said.
