


The maiden voyage of Overtime Boxing (OTX) kicked off Friday from the OTE Arena in Atlanta on DAZN. Founded by sports media company Overtime and led by general manager Brandon Rhodes, the upstart OTX launched their developmental, prospect-and-contender-based trial series with a five-fight card.

Top prospects from all over California will be featured on the undercard of Damian Sosa vs. Ronald Cruz on Friday, Aug. 26 at San Joaquin County Fairgrounds in Stockton, California. The entire card will be streamed live in English on FightHype and in Spanish via TV Boxeo beginning at 6:30 p.m. PT/9:30 p.m. ET.

Mexican contender Damian “Samurai” Sosa (20-1, 11 KOs) defended his WBO Latino Super Welterweight Championship with an impressive knockout victory against Jesus “Ingeniero” Vega (22-3-1, 13 KOs) of Guasave, Sinaloa, Mexico in the main event of a Toscano Boxing Promotions show Friday night at Zonkeys Auditorium in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico and live on FITE.TV Pay-Per-View.

Toscano Boxing Promotions returns on Friday, April 8 as WBO Latino Super Welterweight Champion Damian “Samurai” Sosa (19-1, 10 KOs) faces Jesus “Ingeniero” Vega (22-2-1, 13 KOs) in a 10-round main event at Zonkeys Auditorium in Tijuana, Baja California Mexico. The event will be streamed live on Pay-Per-View via FITE.TV beginning at 6:00 p.m. PT/9:00 p.m. ET.

Gabriel Muratalla drew the task of fighting one slot ahead of his younger brother, in a bout which nearly produced his first career defeat The pre-school teacher and full-time bantamweight from Fontana, California picked up his third win in The Bubble, delivering Brooklyn’s Justice Bland his first pro loss via four-round decision. Scores were 38-36 across the board in favor of Muratalla in their ESPN+ prelim battle Saturday evening from MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas.

Jose Ramirez and Viktor Postol passed the next-to-last hurdle Friday before they can finally fight Saturday night. Ramirez and Postol both made weight for their 12-round, 140-pound title fight, which will headline a six-bout card ESPN+ will stream from MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas. Ramirez stepped on the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s scale at 139.8 pounds, slightly heavier than Postol, who officially weighed 139.7 pounds.

The Dominican Republic’s Elvis “The Dominican Kid” Rodriguez, returns on the Jose Ramirez-Viktor Postol/Arnold Barboza Jr.-Tony Luis undercard Saturday, Aug. 29 for his third appearance inside the MGM Grand “Bubble." Rodriguez will fight Cody Wilson in a six-round welterweight bout as part of the exclusive undercard stream on ESPN+ (7:30 p.m. ET).

Gabriel Muratalla needed much more time to win his televised fight this month. Less than four weeks after scoring a first-round knockout ESPN aired, Muratalla out-worked Sergio Lopez in a four-round junior featherweight fight Tuesday night in Las Vegas. Muratalla won all four rounds on the scorecards of judges Eric Cheek (40-36) and Chris Migliore (40-36), and three rounds on the card of judge Dave Moretti, who credited him with a 39-37 victory.

School has been out for more than three months due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but that didn’t stop Gabriel Muratalla from teaching a lesson in the ring. The pre-school teacher and bantamweight prospect made quick work of Fernando Robles, steamrolling the Pearland, Texas native in a 1st round knockout Thursday evening at MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
