Frank Warren, promoter for undefeated rising heavyweight Daniel Dubois, has fired back at WBC-interim champion Dillian Whyte.

Warren has called on Whyte to face Dubois next.

Next Saturday night at the BT Sport Studios in London, Dubois will take part in a stay-busy bout - which is going to lead to an October showdown with Olympic silver medal winner Joe Joyce.

Whyte is the WBC's mandatory challenger to world champion Tyson Fury, who Warren also promotes.

Should Whyte win, he is due a world title shot by February of 2021.

He sees no reason for a fight with Dubois to take place - but Warren disagrees.

"Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora have got fights in the books, but what have they got after that?" Warren told Metro.co.uk.

"Dillian isn’t fighting Tyson Fury next, I think we all know that. Tyson is fighting Wilder next. If you ask every person in this country what they want to watch – Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte or Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua – the answer is clear. What’s the next thing? Dubois and Joyce are our two big guys so let Dillian fight them!

"By the time Joshua and Tyson get it on you’ve got a natural fight. Dillian never stays still. He won’t want a warm-up fight. There’s no sense in not making this happen. What has Derek Chisora got to lose? Nothing. The fans will buy into these fights. Whyte might consider himself a clear favourite against Dubois considering the youngster’s inexperience in the pro ranks.

"I don’t see Dillian as the favourite for a Dubois fight. If that’s what the bookmakers do I’ll have a good bet on that. I think my man will stop Dillian. I think he’ll outbox him and stop him. He had life and death with Derek Chisora twice."
