Good question, Just caught this...

Its a trick question because its one of those things that is counter intuitive. If we want to guarantee a supply of the fastest, handsomest, strongest...... its the same answer as guaranteeing a supply of the slowess, ugliest, weakest. We want the most people so we get the most people in each range, then social factors are maximized.

of course this is hypothetical, we can't separate people from social forces but we can understand how the mechanisms work that determine our evolution and strength/weakness as a species.

China or India... The question is: with no social enticements who would produce the most and best professional fighters.

And while everyone can create closure putting humor into it, (a welcome response frankly), or their own ideations, its really a math problem. The country with the most people will produce the most of everything: Genetic diversity included... And will subsequently produce the most able bodied individuals...as well as the LEAST able bodied individuals.

Now I will leave it up to the gang here, who have the IQ and boxing knowledge cornered, to draw the proper conclusion regarding race and so called genetic markers when looking at this situation objectively!

China was the first country that came into my mind when I read your question. They have more people than any other country. So, if everything else was equal, they would have more pro boxers, leading to more elite level boxers and therefore more world champions than any other country.

Speaking of genetics, why do Kenyans usually win most marathons here in the US?

Most winners are because of cultural things that produce the skill set needed. A Kenyan was asked this very question and explained how, from an early age they are taught to run everywhere as kids.

Kenyans don't like to admit it, because they believe it detracts attention from the effort they need to put in to succeed, but being born and raised at high altitude is a major factor in that success:

Well its horrible but, when slave traders took human cargo, they did not take the slow, fat, stupid individuals...they took the strong, able bodied, cunning individuals. When Irish fighters were prominent, Only the strong, rich or lucky survived during the potato famine.

Even in the West? During the 18 hundreds the Greeks were believed to be passionate, capricious people with no intellectual currency to speak of. The Egyptians were thought of as the intellectual foundation of Western culture. Then in the next century? When German thinkers studied Greek philosophers, suddenly the Greeks became the "thinkers" and foundation of Western thought and ideology!

Almost every racial stereo type is based on skin color, one genetic variant, and can be explained by other considerations.

Absolutely. Perfect example...The running monks, the Greek Marathon runners, etc. As a side note I remember coming to New Mexico and on a dare running up a mountain side...being young dumb and full of cummm. And suddenly seeing chrome bubbles and stars feeling like a cartoon character getting slugged.

I read a study about the value of dividing people by "race" before testing their IQs, then assigning each race its own average IQ score. The conclusion was that this is a pointless and misleading excercise with no scientific value whatsoever.

Even if cultural factors are ignored, genetic evidence clearly tells us that race and intelligence are not controlled by the same sets of genes. Which means that statistics which may be accurate for one population, at one point in time, are not necessarily going to be accurate for other populations at other points in time.
