They didnt offer a percentage because they dont care if the offer is accepted, and are only "negotiating" for the PR value. They hope Jacobs wins, or something else happens.

What nobody wants to talk about though is that its likely not the money that is the biggest stumbling block here. Its what other terms are likely to be in that "offer". Is Golden Boy demanding options on GGG? Is Golden Boy trying to limit GGGs money in a potential rematch? Is there an escape clause that would let GBP get out of the deal? They put a rematch clause in the Chavez deal so I can GUARANTEE you there is an escape clause in the GGG offer.....

There are alot of different ways to torpedo a deal besides just money.

What you mean is, somebody on the internet said he admitted it to a Russian newspaper.

Maybe he was in a street gang and the Mongolians were in a rival gang?

        Correct stance.

$15million is a more than generous offer, take it or leave it. Canelo fought Mayweather and Cotto for less than that and he's a far bigger draw than Golovkin.

Golovkin can accept triple his highest ever purse for a mega fight or continue fighting mostly irrelevant opponents. Canelo sacrificed to get big fights, $15million is far from a sacrifice.
How can it be correct if you can't find one precedent in the long an unfair history of boxing? Canelo got upside in both of those fights

First point: Homies, both fighters have one and maybe even two fights in the interim. We are still in the EARLY STAGES OF NEGOTIATION. I expect alot of back and forth to happen til at least May/June.

Team GGG would be STUPID to accept the first offer at this early stage of the negotiation. They should negotiate.

HOWEVER, they should accept that Canelo is a much bigger name. They should be willing to take a short end -- bc in the long-term, a win over Canelo will be worth alot. I think Team GGG should accept 70-30 or even 75-25.

Honestly, I would even consider taking the $15M (assuming its a real offer - or at least calling the bluff), even though you may be leaving $$$ on the table.

Otherwise, Im afraid that Team Canelo will duck the fight and maybe rematch Cotto.

"Sergey and Vadim took Gennady to the boxing gym as an eight-year-old. When they saw the damage which those young fists were capable of they picked street fights for him against grown men, which he invariably won, as a hardening process for the boxing life to come."

Now how the fuck do you turn that into Golovkin and his brothers beating up random civilians just because of the victims race?

Rather when has a man with zero quality wins been sO highly rated?
Now the fact he is so highly rated, you should get paid for being a superstar of boxing. GGG hasnt fought other superstars yet that's why he's been underpaid. Doesn't mean nelo can continUE to underpay
