Good point with the promoter fanboys/haters. I don't know that that is a thing in other sports quite like it is in boxing. There are even network fanboys/haters lol. The athletes getting hate & love makes sense to me, but the promoter & network thing is odd & seems pretty unique to boxing or certainly on the scale it happens in boxing its unique cuz I know some cats are loving or hating on Mark Cuban & random owners or business guys in other sports.

I would argue that those companies don't put the sport first, they put their company first, but because they are so dominant in their sport, that by putting their company first, the fans of that sport benefit.
The problem is that boxing's equivalent is the WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO. Which would be like if the NFL and AFL never merged, and the USFL survived and the XFL stuck around. The talent would be spread among four leagues and fans would be pissed. There would be four champions. The best wouldn't play the best, etc. That is the situation boxing is in.Comment

I really hope so because I cant stand wilder but he can crack thats why Hearn wanted him to fight Whyte instead of AJ because the wbo title is bull**** its only considered major because of Europeans and bob arum top rankI don't like Eddie Hearn, but you gotta respect that man's hustle... True
And he only talks sense when it comes to Wilder vs Joshua...
Not really
Pure ego stopped Wilder and his team from accepting Hearn's £4m offer to fight Whyte, it made sense on every level. Made zero sense at all tbh
I think Ortiz exposes Wilder's flaws this weekend, before age and Wilder's power catches up with him - if he turns back the clock tho, it's anyone's guess, cause your boy Wilder really can't box.Comment

Ortiz is far from third best....
1. Fury
2. Joshua
3. Povetkin
4. Parker
5. Wilder
6. Pulev
7. Whyte
8. Ortiz
Ortiz hasn't beaten a meaningful fighter since Jennings three years ago. Fought once in like two years. Guy is washed up. Haymon bought him because he is cannon fodder .
Wilder won't fight a guy in his prime like Povetkin or Whyte or Parker. Haymon trying to keep Wilder safe until he can cash him out vs AJ at some pointComment

There are similar sentiments in other sports. Some fans love the owner of their favorite team, some fans hate the owner of their favorite team.
Some fans prefer American League baseball, others prefer National League. Some fans prefer the style of basketball in the Western conference, some prefer the Eastern conference. HBO & SHO were boxing's equivalent for decades. Now things are messier with ESPN in the mix while HBO slowly fades into obscurity.I don't know that that is a thing in other sports quite like it is in boxing. There are even network fanboys/haters lol.Comment

It's not a matter of what I feel, but how things are. The evidence is that one boxer has not been running from tough fights, the other one has.
I provided you with a link to to top ten heavyweights and then I told you by number ranking which Joshua had fought. What is the source of your uncertainty? If Joshua is so much more accomplished (still not sure who he actually fought but I will take your word)
So to recap. Joshua is fighting top ten fighters in front of 80-90k fans and making more money per fight than anyone else in boxing. Taking commercial income into account he's already probably worth in advance of $50m and that figure will soon rise significantly once again.then fight Wilder and expose him. Its not that hard...but guess what...Joshua and Hearn know whats up. So stay over in England and keep fighting bums for those little euros...If he wants the big money come to the US and fight Wilder. But we know thats not going to happen. LOL
Fwiw AJ Wilder will happen. It won't be immediate because the people behind it want to recoup the maximum amount of revenue from it. As long as the Parker and Ortiz fights go according to plan that will mean an AJ fight in the US with Wilder appearing at it. It will likely mean an AJ mandatory defence too in the meantime, one of the consequences of holding all those belts.
There will be a pantomime in this build-up phase to entice US casual fans. The story will be that AJ is ducking dangerous Deontay. Some will recognise it for what it is, others will think that it's reality. They will help push the revenues for the fight into the really big numbers that come with a successful US PPV event. It will be sometime in 2019.
Reality however is the table that I linked to and the fact that Wilder has fought 39 pro fights over 9 years whilst repeatedly failing to fight the best in the division. You're attacking a guy 4 years his junior who actually is fighting the top heavyweights and has consequently reaped the rewards.Comment

Just because he is the most well known in the US does not mean it will do well. The potential is a false hope.
The best looking turd does not mean it's not a turd.Comment

You're an idiot. With your theory, any exciting pro can become a ppv fighter even when they have had zero ppv fights.
How many boxers are there in the world? How many have headline a ppv fight that generates more than over 30 mil purses in total for 2 fighters?Comment
