Because USA is where the big boys and real big money can be made......You will never become a Worldwide Star in any Sport unless you have American Backing or Exposure.
Potential to sell US PPV? Really? How many can he sell? He has had 39 pro fights already and has a HW title yet how many of the US public know him?

US fans for boxing are trash. The only ones that sell PPV are created from Mexican exposure.

Oscar made Mayweather and Pac sell in recent times. Wilder has no one and is a fraud who doesn't have the skill of even Canelo

These are the latest independent rankings from TBRB for heavyweights:
          http://www.tbrb.org/all-rankings/

From the top 10 Joshua has fought and beaten boxers ranked in 6th,7th and Ninth positions. He had a bout lined up with the fourth ranked fighter until his opponent pulled out. His next opponent is a fellow champion ranked 3 and following that fight he's likely to be facing either Povetkin at 5 or Miller at 8.

If I were looking for a top ranked heavyweight that's been carefully cherry picking opponents and avoiding any risk at every turn then AJ wouldn't be the strongest candidate. Indeed, I can think of someone who would fit that description far more accurately. Someone with 39 professional fights over a nine year career. Someone who has yet to face anyone else on that very same list.

Well if you feel that way then tell your boy to stop running and fight. If Joshua is so much more accomplished (still not sure who he actually fought but I will take your word) then fight Wilder and expose him. Its not that hard...but guess what...Joshua and Hearn know whats up. So stay over in England and keep fighting bums for those little euros...If he wants the big money come to the US and fight Wilder. But we know thats not going to happen. LOL

They’re used to freezing threats out in the UK. Framp Rigo, Hatton Witter and a host of other fighters. They will attempt to avoid Wilder, but the public will demand or dis Joshua.

                  • Definitely agree Wilder made a bad money decision cuz he was likely getting more money for a lesser opponent. Although admittedly I don't get the alignment with no promoter & no network, but still being loyal to DiBella & Showtime as often as Wilder does (& Stevenson + others who I'm probably not thinking of right now) so maybe there is some weird math or unusual agreement keeping him where he is idfk.

It is garbage. All showcases fights for fighters like:

                      Spence
                      Stevenson
                      Wilder
                      Charlos

When they should be fighting real opponents three times a year at least. Instead they are lucky to fight once a year and vs a bum or washed up veteran who has a name.

How many times has haymon recycled feather fists like

                      Guerrero
                      Peterson
                      Algieri
                      Trout
                      Fonfara
                      Molina
                      Duhappas

Already to build up his supposed A list talent . Haymon thinks he can use the same blueprint he used to protect floyd all those years fighting washed up guys but it won't work with these guys cause floyd was already a star at that point. Haymon has no idea how to build a fighter.
