  • BREAKING | Daniel Cormier is once Again the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion

    http://www.bjpenn.com/mma-news/danie...ipped-ufc-214/

The Jon Jones roller coaster has finally made one of its biggest loopty-loops, but after this they’ll be much more to come. Earlier today, the B sample of Jones’ came back positive for Turinabol, concluding that there was no error in the first sample. The MMA world has been waiting with bated breath ever since his alleged anti-doping violation was first announced. There was hope after his blood test came back clean, but it looks like the UFC is moving forward after these last results as Jon Jones will prepare for his upcoming legal journey. On UFC Tonight, it was made official that Daniel Cormier is once again UFC light heavyweight champion.

This is the second time Daniel Cormier has had to deal with such a situation. Earlier this year, he expressed his concern with the fact he may never fight Jon Jones again and talked at length about his feelings on the results. Tonight their latest fight from UFC 214 has been ruled a ‘no contest’ and Jones’ victory has been erased. What’s next for Cormier is unknown other than the fact he’ll once again be defending the belt, but Jon Jones will continue his a battle with USADA outside of the Octagon and the consequences it may bring.

It quickly went from a great comeback to a very poor ending and now Jones' career is finished.

Man I can't wait to hear how Cormier takes this development. I mean once Jon got popped it seemed a forgone conclusion that he'd be stripped & Cormier would be champ again so this was going to happen just a matter of when, but now that its happened how great can you feel getting the title back after you got KO'd like he got KO'd regardless of the banned substance angle??? Gotta be weird & a difficult situation for Cormier.

And honestly I was & still am rooting on him staying out of the cage for AT LEAST 6 months if not more like 9mos or even a year if he can push things that far. I personally feel like its no good for guys to be getting knocked out like he got knocked out + fighting again THAT soon. And this isn't boxing. When he fights again he's gonna get thrown in with a killer so there isn't an easy fight waiting for him.

I'm a second chance type person, but once you get popped twice for PEDs, you need to be banned from the sport.

sucks for DC... how can you even be proud of getting a belt that you really didnt earn and was given to you... once again.

DC is in a tough spot. As long as he's champion, he'll always be seen as the permanent #2 , regardless of Jones and his PEDs.

Jones should be banned from the sport. This isn't his first offense. He already basically hit rock bottom in 2015 with that hit and run and then tested positive in 2016, but then he somehow managed to dig an even deeper hole for himself.

Yeah man, there are still a lot of people saying Jones would beat DC with or without PEDs because he is just to skilled.

In a round about way I work with Daniels uncle. We were just talking yesterday about where this was going to fall. He has mentioned that Daniel is still on vacation in Hawaii and this whole thing has taken a toll on him emotionally. Also that he has 4 more fights signed with the UFC. After that conversation it was on to the Canelo GGG fight !!!

Too bad Jones robbed us of ever knowing the answer.
