Well my federal return was a lot greater than $80 if that's what you're asking. But I also paid less in taxes each paycheck. I'd have to look at total tax paid to really compare.

Got 600 less in federal tax return.
Got 80 bucks more a month on the tax cut so technically Trump’s tax cut only gave me 360 bucks lol.

          That’s winning I guess

Compare total tax paid. I'd be curious to hear if you saw a net overall gain or loss this year.

How much did you make last year and the year before? How much did your check go up after the tax deal?
How much in fed did you pay in in 17 and then in 18?

it will be a net gain. The confusion is with the withholdings.

But what was the overall result? Did the higher paychecks + lower tax refunds leave regular people with a net gain over last year? Or with a net loss?

That's what will tell the tale.

That's pretty much what I'm asking. People are forgetting getting more on their paycheck each week.

You should never hope for a refund if you're doing it right. Never let the government use your money.

Now if you're not paying taxes because you don't have a job I don't want to hear it.
