It's been said here already so let's sum up the issue:

Jared Leto sucked.
Ledgers Joker was way over the top, a scenery chewing, hammy performance remembered only because he died young soon after.
Phoenix was great as Commodus, might be an ok Joker.
Caesar Romero was the GOAT Joker with mustache covered in greasepaint.

Wasn't the story behind the Joker that his face was burned or mutilated in some way? And young Willem Dafoe was a dish (no h0m0).
