Did you even watch lakers 2000-2004?

“I would take today’s spurs over Kobe n Shaq”

That alone shows you don’t know shyt
The 2001 Lakers were playing Finals teams like Iverson's 2001 76ers and Iverson NEVER had a season as good as Westbrook did last year. That 76ers squad was flat out bad, guys like Kukoc, Ratliff, an old Mutombo, etc. as his scorers.

Kobe-Shaq could only go so far, teams these days are loaded with scorers and perimeter players.

My 2000's Spurs used to get away with putting defenders like Nesterovich, Rose, Massenberg, Willis, Danny Ferry and a bunch of others on Shaq for large spans of the game.

Pau Gasol, Aldridge, Bertans, Anderson, Rudy Gay, etc. are flat out better than these players. Duncan used to feast on guys like Horry, Fox, Grant, old Malone, whatever scrub the lakers trotted out there, Aldridge could easily drop 40 on any Laker big man.

My 2000's Spurs had Bowen-Jackson for perimeter defense and that's it. The 2018 roster has 5 elite perimeter defenders in Leonard, Green, Murray and Anderson, Gay. Each defender possesses length, scoring, and size that would lock Kobe down and more than cancel out his scoring. Lesser defenders and defensive rotations have shut Kobe down.

Why didn’t spurs 3peat, or even repeat?

        Kobe did both

The way you are posting make it sound like you don't even think Kobe is top 50 all time. Eye test alone firmly puts him in the top 12-15 ALL TIME. No debate The debate comes from if he's top 10.

Scorers are more efficient today for 2 seasons or 3 seasons. That don't mean anything.

UNTIL Curry or Derozen or Harden have 10+ seasons of high scoring PPG and elite level play, it's all meaningless.

For all we know, these guys already peaked and is going downhill from here. What's to say Curry won't be declining as early as 2019?
Kobe was great in his era where the majority of NBA talent resided among the bigs and not the perimeter players. He's one of the greatest perimeter players of all time but this current era's players are passing him up pretty easily.

Westbrook already has 7 elite seasons, Curry 7, Durant 10, Lebron 14, Harden 6, etc. These players aren't going to decline unless they get hit with an injury and there are a lot more guys like Leonard, Lillard, Davis, Cousins etc. that are putting up major points on solid efficiency as well. The league is loaded with scorers. It was rare in Kobe's era, not in this era.

He's not better than guys like Duncan/Lebron/Shaq, guys with more Finals MVP's from his own era. Not being the best player on 3/5th of your championship teams is a huge hit to his legacy. His 2004 performance and 2010 Finals performances were quite bad as well, he made them lose in '04 and got bailed out by Gasol/MWP in Game 7 2010.

The Spurs aren't in LA that's why, they lost a lot of key players on their rosters throughout the years and almost nobody wanted to sign here aside of old guys that'd retire in 1-2 years. They were in rebuild mode by 2003 when Robinson retired, Manu/Parker were heavily inexperienced, Duncan was only 6 years pro.

Kobe 3peated due to Shaq, and repeated from his team winning the rebound battle. His last 2 championship teams were some of the greatest rebounding teams of all time. Rebounding literally decided every single game of the 2011 Finals, whichever team won that battle won the game.

You're like a parrot. You just repeat what haters say. What's it like watching the NBA for only 8 years? Shaq has ZERO rings without Kobe. Kobe has more rings than Shaq.

              • He is literally the WORST player in the Clutch that I've EVER seen.

He is so one dimensional and has such an OFF jumper, he has to DRIVE every time he gets the ball, flat out traveling and shoving everyone in his way. Look at him when he's going up for the layup. He looks PETRIFIED . And he missed it.... a layup in the clutch.

Sorry, what great players of all time ever do this over... and over... and over again?

                  • When you stop a one dimensional player, he has no where else to go.

                    • The reason LeBrun Away James has a ring in Cleveland left and went to Boston.

He's simply going to jump ship when his contract is up.
