it's regrettable that we still vilify Russia but allow the Saudis to get filthy rich and build mosques all over the west. Russia is capable of becoming a first world if we allow them, since they have tons of oil and arable land that is ripe for trade.

By definition they cannot become a first world. Do you know the distinction between first and second? It’s not economic it’s geopolitical.

Us and Europe are first world, the soviet bloc is second world. All others that didn’t align themselves with either are third world.
I understand it’s common to throw those terms out as economic status but it’s incorrect. These terms shouldn’t be used in modern era. Thats Cold War lingo.
