I never quite caught that, you could be onto something.

Oreo was first manufactured in 1912, exactly 100 years before the date of doom and the modern day design was made 60 years before said date being first produced in 1952.
It's been in production in the 20th and 21st centuries, rearrange those numbers and you get 2012!

Coupled with the way the oreo cookie is similar and they just released a rainbow version this year indicating massive changes, I think the oreo cookie is responsible for any happenings in late 2012.
