Technically he'll be setting up for Yansen but he's just as valuable and would be ready to step into that role. You probably don't understand the value the bullpen has in baseball specially in the postseason where it's the difference between a contender and a championship team.
Most of these deals also have incentives where he'll have to reach certain innings pitched to get that money and on top of that it's only a one year deal.
I don't care who gives him that amount of money, it's too much. He's not even a closer and he barely pitched at all last year. If the Dodgers don't improve their anemic offense, they aren't winning didly.

In spite of the pathetic play, the Clips are still in 1st place in the Pacific division. Dudley is completely useless and the Clips really miss Eric Bledsoe. We should just fast forward and let the Pacers and Heat play for the title. I'll be shocked if one of those teams isn't the NBA champ.

Make the banner and I'll hang it up @ Staples the next time I'm @ a Clipper game.

Again it's a ONE year deal in which he'll have to pitch a certain amount of innings to see that amount. He might not have pitched much, but he pitched enough to show his injury won't be a problem. The games he did pitch he was lights out an was our best pitcher out of the pen in the postseason.

He might not be the closer but his stuff is just as good as Jansen's. Closers get all the credit but what good does having a good closer do if you can't get him the ball. A good setup men is just as valuable if not more valuable than a closer. Setup men are put in tougher situations with runners on and no room for errors closers usually come in with no runners on.

At least they didn't commit for 10 years with a guy like Cano for an insane amount of money. The name of the game is pitching if you've noticed ever since they cleaned out the sport for ped's no one can hit in the postseason.

                  • What's the second best team in LA shaping up like for the coming season?

At least the contact has stipulations, I was unaware of that. The Red Sox did a good job of hitting in the postseason. David Ortiz was an absolute beast for the entire playoffs. Did you see how the Cardinals rocked Kershaw in game 6 of the NLCS? You can't win a championship without good pitching AND hitting. The Dodgers offense was absolutely pathetic with next to no clutch hitting against the Cardinals. You can't win a championship with an offense that's that pedestrian.
