The problem with most athletes the world over is diet, plain and simple. I am proof positive that weight training can assist you in loosing weight. I weighed 265 at the beginning of the summer, started training, running, and lifting like I did playing football, now I weight about 225lbs lean as ever. I really don't want to explain to you, but I feel as though you are a child. Weight training speeds up you metabolism, around the clock even when you are sleeping. Cardiovascular trainings effects last for only as long as you are performing them. While the cardio does catabolize fats primarily, more overall calories are burned from weight training. The only way your muscle grow subtantially is to modify your diet for muscle mass. In other words eat like its going out of style. Really large muscles require really large amounts of bodybuilder specific training, and food. You're training will turn you into a virtual calorie burning furnace, why do you think basketball players aren't big and huge nor slow, or football players, or any power/endurance sport. Plus your hormonal levels also play a major role in muscle building, which also coincides with your diet. Bet you didn't think those tall lanky basketball players had a heavy lifting routine did you? Of course not because you don't reasearch anything nor do you have any evidence that back up what you say. Its just your opinon, and uneducated opinions really don't show you in the best light, ya know.
