  • sparring acciedent ooops any body else been in this situation?

i was sparring today with a guy at my gym he is a good boxer but he doesnt seem to be interested in fights. anyway we were sparrin he wasnt weaeing any head geer dont no why because there was loads lieing around. i kept noticeing how much he panect on the back foot so i started keep going forwards and when i had him on the ropes he put his head down and i started hiting him with uppercuts and all off a suden he crawls out the ring holding his face and walks in the toilets so i was like what tha **** and went affter him to see what was what if he was hurt and when i went in he was running hif face un der the cold tap water and looked and said i think its a bad cut his eye lid was split right across a feel really bad neather of us no how it happend because i was,nt putting much power into the shots the only explanation we got was he didnt have head gear onn.

That just happens sometimes. I've had cuts in training 3 or 4 times. One time I got 2 at once. One on the eyebrow, one under the eye. That was a guy coming up from below with his head. All my cuts, but one, have been from headbutts/clashes.

I've given out a few cuts too. those were from punches though.

WHAT KIND OF GLOVES WERE YOU WEARING? I'VE CUT THE **** OUT OF PEOPLE WITH MY REYES GLOVES. AND NOT ONCE WITH MY GRANTS OR EVERLASTS.

I would blame it on him not wearing head gear at. I wouldn't feel bad at all. It's his own fault.

Or were you guys only supposed to be going to the body?

Dont stress about the other kid, that will make you weak and will hurt you in a boxing match.

If you bust sombody up in a sparirng match, and he was willing, tell him to go **** off if he is crying about it.

Don't worry about anybody when you are in that ring, just do your thing.

dude, he shouldnt be in the ring if he cant handle that, that incident is only the bottom the pile. theres plenty of cuts, bruises, concussions and knock downs to come...
              * altho, a eyelid cut is an unfortunate occurance esepcially when just starting out.
some many scenerios it can happen. sometimes when opponent has head down and squinting and you catch/graze a flap of skin around eye/eyebrow area.
other times can be headbutt. even an elbow.

the guy mite of freaked out. beeing scared of blood + and boxing = FREAK OUT!

You're SO wrong. This happened in sparring, not a boxing match. The fighters you train with, share sweat, blood and tears with deserve your love and respect more than anyone except your family.
