It's not how many champions come out of a gym, see what the atmosphere is like talk to the trainers and fighters in the gym to see what there knowledge level is. And how much they have to teach. Also see how much sparing time you can get. nothing and I mean nothing compares to sparing when training to box.

Unless there is a boxing culture where you live, chances are there are not many boxing clubs from which to chose. Joe Frazier's book Box Like The Pros will give you some guidelines to evaluating gyms and trainers. However, if you have talent and you want to learn, you will overcome whatever deficiencies the local clubs may have.
