I train 2 per week double group class, which mean 2.5 hours spent at the gym plus 5 days working alone on shadowboxing approxamitly 2 hours per day is this enough for an amateur level?
How many days a week do Amateur boxers train in the boxing gym ?

This... and in some of those days you need to put some days where you train twice a day. Maybe morning run and evening boxing, and a couple of long runs a week (once or twice), maybe on a Saturday.Comment

When I used to fight or even training and sparring, used to wake up in the morning and go for a quick run, go to work, and boxing after work. Saturdays either a long run, sprints or cycling. Sometimes Sundays used to sign myself in a 10km or 5km marathon.
A day or two a week, had work related lectures after work till 8:30pm, so instead of boxing training I used to go for a run during the night, around 9pm - 10pm. Got stopped a couple of times by police
Obviously sometimes you need a break or else you get fed up, but thinking to start that routine again, already started training like 4 - 5 days a week depends on time.Comment

I remember as a pro when my trainer took me to 'the hill' and worked my legs. I had just started bartending at a Muir restaurant, a job that Jackie set up for me (what a great lady). After I worked the hill I slept for a bit until it was time to train. I got up and my legs hurt so bad but I still got to the gym, put my work in (sparring with Bronco and Tarrick and floor work), showered and left for the job.
I worked until about 3am and I hurt every minute of it.
Then I got home, went to bed and woke up still crazzzy sore and did it all again. The fights seemed to be the only time that I wasn't agonizing. Ofcourse though, my body soon got used to it and worked through with strength. Knowing that you are in prime shape is a huge boost for your mind and skills. ........................Rockin'Last edited by Rockin'; 12-09-2020, 05:22 PM.Comment
