      good mornings are good for lower back as long as you dont over-do it. hold a barbell on your shoulders and bend straight over to make a 90 degree angle. the legs should stay completely stiff and keep your entire back as flat and straight as possible. return to standing position and repeat...

        Hyper extensions should be done slowly with a slight squeeze at the top of the extension.

        'Superman' exercise is an excellent lower back strengthener.

          Outside of deadlifts, the back hyperextensions that Mickey posted are THE best workout. Once you get in one set of 18-22, pick up a 15 or 20 pound weight and hold it either to your chest (like your hugging the weight) or behind your neck and do another drop set of 14-16. Repeat this and your kidneys will be padded like a volkswagon passenger in a 4 car pileup.

              Exactly. If you strength them but don't stretch after working it, it won't fix the problem from the first place.
