  • Strengthening lower back

Anyone know of any exercises? My lower back is hindering me in a lot of my ab exercises. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it seems as thought ur doin to much work on ur abs!

so to strengthen up ur back u shud do plenty of dorsal raises, where u lie on da floor put ur hands on ur arse n lift ur self up!

u shud do less on ur abs because ur causin an imbalance in da strength of ur abs and ur back and dats y ur backs hurtin!

I have the same problem. Do these everyday and it should help.

      Back Bridges
      Superman
      Bird Dog
      Prone Scorpion
      Planche
      Butt Lifts

Those are the best ones in my opinion because they work the best directly hitting the lower back.

Roll your hips up up toward you when lieing down, suck your navel to you spine, and tense.

Do deadlifts and deep squats with strict form.

Dead lifts are king. I'm not a big fan of working with weights. Especially in my current state, though. Thanks for the suggestions boys.

If you do deadlifts, do them in a sumo stance. Those are killer for lower back.

                Also weighted hyperextensions.

Don't be afraid of deadlifts; that's one lift that will only good for you if you do it correctly.

Keep the weight low at first and get plenty of coaching until you perfect your form. Deadlifts will make you solid, strong, and powerful from neck to toe.

Yeah, I might start to do them after my regular calisthenics workout daily. I have standard plates at my house, so the bar isn't as high as the olympic plates so I probably have to put them on cinderblocks to raise the height or do them sumo.
