Name of this drill and the purpose?

I've seen many Cuban amateur boxers doing this drill but anyone have any info? It'd be greatly appreciated.

    Possibly a wrestling drill?

Clearly looks like it's for footwork. I haven't seen it before seems like an obvious benefit.

From the beginning: The movement and spinning works on footwork and moving while dizzy or partially impaired, which can happen during a fight. The rest of the drills are for footwork and mild conditioning.

Yoel Romero mentioned something about this in his interview with Rogan. I think he said it was a change of pace exercise in between actual skill based drills.

It's a wild guess but it looks like training to avoid getting the legs tangled with the opponent's

Back in high school wrastlin' practice we did "Indian wrastlin" where everyone hopped on one foot (and held the other behind them with a hand) and tried to push each other down (with the hand not holding their other leg) and the last guy standing won. That was a balance, conditioning, and also a mental drill.

It's a footwork drill. They are trying to tap the opponent on the knees while avoiding getting tapped themselves.

Jennifer Lopez did this same drill in the Krav Maga training scene from "Enough."

We do this at my gym pretty often. Can help with footwork or blocking with hands. We also add in toe touches and shoulder taps to help train reflexes and improve awareness.
